Pedopolis Association at STAR FORUM 2025
The Pedopolis Association expresses its deepest gratitude to STAR FORUM 2025 for providing a vital platform to highlight the challenges and aspirations of the Greek minority in Istanbul, Imbros, and Tenedos. Through the live TV broadcast, social media, and radio coverage of the panel discussion, our message reached a wide audience, fostering greater awareness and engagement.
Representing the Pedopolis Association, our President, Andonis Filippidis, participated in a distinguished panel alongside:

The discussion focused on the past, present, and future of our historic community, addressing crucial issues such as:
✅ The need to preserve and strengthen the Greek population in Constantinople (2,000 Greeks) and Imvros-Tenedos (600 Greeks)
✅ The role of education, cultural programs, and initiatives – such as the Pedopolis Children’s Camps – in reinforcing identity and a sense of belonging.
✅ The unique status of these regions under the Treaty of Lausanne (1923) and the responsibility to safeguard their Greek heritage
✅ Collaboration between Greeks of the diaspora and those living in Istanbul to sustain their cultural and historical legacy
✅ The urgent call for all forms of support—financial contributions, in-kind donations, and personal visits—to strengthen our mission and ensure the continuity of our work in Istanbul and beyond
Through STAR FORUM 2025, we had the opportunity to present our work, share our vision, and connect with a broader public, reinforcing the importance of collective action to support our community. The forum was a powerful reminder that awareness, advocacy, and collaboration are key to ensuring a sustainable future for the Greek presence in these lands.
